![]() Newton, Massachusetts Known as The Garden City, Newton is a very nice area recognized by many for its high quality of living. Back in the 1600s it was a part of Cambridge but then incorporated as a town in 1688 and then as a city in 1873. While being a suburb of Boston, it is still a bustling area. The city has 14 villages within it: Auburndale, Chestnut Hill, Four Corners, Newton Centre, Newton Corner, Newton Highlands, Newton Lower Falls, Newton Upper Falls, Newtonville, Nonantum, Oak Hill, Thomsonville and Waban. It also has numerous zip codes and a population of approximately 83,000. In many cases, residents can walk to local shopping, parks or other attractions in the city. Its proximity to Boston is one of the factors that make it such a desirable area. The Mass Pike runs through Newton which offers fast access to downtown. Commonwealth Avenue and Boylston Street also both offer convenient access to Boston. If you don't like to drive, the MBTA provides train service to Boston and other areas through its Framingham/Worcester Line. ![]() Newton War Memorial There are many different types of homes in Newton. You can find single-family, multi-family, and condos here. Many are very nice. The majority of the single-family homes are priced between $400,000 to $7,000,000.
